Week 5: Treasury

I had the chance to work closely with the Treasury Team in the accounting department. This team handles all things money-related, ensuring that funds flow smoothly and are managed with precision.

One of the cool things I got to see was how the Treasury Team manages payments for property acquisitions. When the company buys a new home, they need to handle the money part properly. The team ensures that the right amount of money is set aside for expenses and that payments are made to the right people and places.

To make sure everything is smooth, the team uses a wire checklist and a payment program with a bank. It’s like having a special list that ensures each step of the payment process is done correctly. They can even use wire transfers to move money between accounts quickly and securely.

The Treasury Team doesn’t just handle incoming payments. They also keep track of requests for payments, internal bank transfers, investments, and how much everything costs. It’s like being the money keepers, making sure every cent is accounted for. Safety is a big deal in the money world. The Treasury Team makes sure that no one tries to claim a false check from them.

During my time with the Treasury Team, I also had the chance to connect with team members. Networking allowed me to learn from experienced professionals and get a sense of how teamwork plays a big role in a company’s financial operations.

My SEC Reporting Team Experience:

Apart from the Treasury Team, I was also with my team t– the SEC Reporting Team. We were gearing up for the 10Q report, a document that shows how the company is doing financially. We had meetings with different parts of the accounting department and even the audit team from Deloitte, a big audit company.
